Using LinkedIn for college admission
In the era of the 21st century, the
world is moving towards a more digitalized form and moving ahead to connect
with the world with the help of the social platform. LinkedIn is also a social
platform where people of the society connect. Here I am telling how this platform
helps us to get admission to the college. Frankly telling when you hear about
this platform, the First thing which has come to your mind is that this is for
the job seeker and employer and also a lot of confusion related to LinkedIn,
some people thought it as a social media network like Facebook, Instagram, etc.
and some thought it is job portal both are correct but it is biased towards
professional, So the questions arise how this helps us the students getting
admission in the university or Institute. Here I am explaining, if you search
on the search option of the LinkedIn only admission there is a lot of profiles that
have come out of admission advisor and counselor of the representative of
university and Institute all around the globe. This is by the employer side by
which you get to know the usefulness of LinkedIn for admission. Using LinkedIn
for college admission is a good idea by where the university goes through the
profile of students and gathering information of the student and also instructs
the students while filling the form to link their social media profiles and
also link the LinkedIn profile.
This is for the admission seeker, so to
attract the high school students the minimum age bar is reduced from 18 to 14,
this is a massive increase in the registered number on LinkedIn. LinkedIn is
not only for the job seeker or the employer they are also for the students to
create profiles and connect. The first thing the admission seeker does is to
make a professional profile and show people who don’t know who you are and
connect with the people and groups. If the student profile is quite
professional there may be a chance of getting admission to the college. The
college admission counselor has been going through the profile and the student
get has notified that’s someone is viewing the profile.
In this pandemic, a lot of offline
activities are forced to do online. There are a lot of activities where students
participate such as Internships, social activities, admission, online courses, etc.
all these activities do to online by the employer side and also from the
admission seeker. So the number of students registered on this platform is
massive after the pandemic and all are getting and resolving queries online
with the help of this platform. Students on LinkedIn get this opportunity and
getting participate in these activities. LinkedIn also offers a feature through
which you can other people to recommend you, people with a maximum number of
recommendations have a great chance of attracting attractors so this feature is
also for the admission seeker to get maximum recommendations as possible to
increase their profile strength. LinkedIn is a popular social network for
career development but you don’t have to wait until you enter the workforce,
build your profile, and connect with the people while you studying. LinkedIn
also used to participate in different activities such as organizing events,
writing articles, publishing jobs, posting photos and videos, and LinkedIn
learning is a subsidiary of LinkedIn which provides courses taught by the
industry expert.
India is a diverse country where the
societal infrastructure of the society is very diverse so it is quite
understandable that a lot of people are not aware of this social network and the
benefits of joining this network. To spread awareness about LinkedIn to make an
account on this platform and get the opportunity that LinkedIn provides.
Very well described.
